i watched both seasons of from me to you in 2 days, so sufficient to say it was binge-able. i was immediately swooning over how cutesy the series was.

< proof in my dm's to my sister as she sleeps peacefully

there are quite a few similarities between the plot of this show and komi can't communicate- a misunderstood girl who has difficulties making friends meets a friendly boy who opens up her world to a wonderfully shining highschool life.

it's no komi-copy, though! the manga was written earlier, so if anything komi was the copy X3

i had made the connection of kimi ni todoke having very similar art to that of march comes in like a lion, and believes while watching the second season that it was the same studio that created both but i was totally wrong! i swore i noticed similarities like thick-lined mouths and lines in the eyes, but apparently not =_=

kei - 3-gatsu no lion - shaft

kimi ni todoke was a very fluffy show, despite having such a downer main character. all the romance between the main duo was so shy and cute- an attribute i really love to see in boys! when he blushes from her staring at him... so cute~!! ><

it was heartwarming to watch the friendships form between the girls, and i'm happy that a lot of time was spent on that and not just the romance.

ayane and chizu were both so cute in their own way, i loved them. it was nice to see such support and love between the trio ^^

a duo i was reaallly rooting for was chizu and ryu, and not just because i have a soft spot for characters like ryu (always the baldies that are the kindest ;; ). "childhood friends" is my favourite romance trope, and all the little moments, though one-sided, fill my heart with so much love for them!

i spoke in my last review about the "pretty popular girl is actually a bitch" trope and about how kurumi fits the bill here, but i found myself liking her a bit more than megu in say "i love you". despite her immoral methods of boy-chasing, she's still a kind girl at heart, and i appreciate that. the unique relationship between her and sawako of "rivals" is pretty cute, i think.

"rival - a likeable foe"

i liked kento. when he was first introduced he seemed like he could be trouble (which he was, in a way), but i found him pretty likable! i appreciated that i couldn't right away tell why he was added to the story. usually it's very obvious that a new addition will be some sort of catalyst, whether its as a rival or person from the past sort of thing. he was fun, and i do believe he had the best intentions at heart, just went about his meddling too much without knowing the full story.

as for the last episode (always a dread of mine) . . . not a lot of my wishlist came true. i had hoped for a kiss, a confession of "daisuki" instead of just "suki", and some first-name calling, since that had been teased since the beginning, but no </3 we did get some ryu-zu and kurumi content, but the final moment was a bit lacking in impact. it should have ended with the title! instead, it was a really jarring cut which i didn't like.

by the end, i was fairly tired of the cartoony-style comedy aspect. not much more to say about that, other than i think it got a bit overused and that i wanted to see pretty sawako more than spooky "sadako".

in conclusion...

★★★✫☆ 3.5 lucky stars.

suuuper cute, emotion was shown prettily with the backgrounds, and nothing too irritating about the characters.
